There are 2 ways for you to get dragons. The first way is by stealing eggs from inside the Cave entrance. Sometimes you will see 3 'mystery' eggs, each with a short description. If you click on the egg quickly enough, it becomes your little pet, your very own little dragon (ahh, isn't that sweet). But there are other dragon-lovers out there, just like you, who also want that egg. And if they click first, then you have lost the egg, and you have to try again (refresh the page). It can become an exciting click-fest, as you desperately try to win that elusive egg, hehe.
The second way to get eggs is by adopting them from the Abandoned Page. Yes, some poor, unfortunate eggs (sometimes even hatchlings) are sadly abandoned, and left to die outside the Cave *sniff*. So you will see all the abandoned eggs (or hatchlings) here, but no descriptions. But they are given a second chance, if you decide to adopt one. Simply click on it, and it will become your responsibility. Show it some love, and it will love you back.
But it takes work to successfully raise a dragon to adulthood. Like I said earlier, you can have as many dragons as you like. But you are only allowed 4 eggs \ hatchlings at a time. Your eggs needs views and clicks to help it grow. So you need to show your eggs, so that people can see them and click on them. You can do this by placing them in forum signatures (each dragon has it's own code, that you can just copy and paste), or in high traffic Dragon Cave fansites. A dragon egg has 7 days to hatch. It usually hatches after 3.5 days, but every dragon is different. Some could hatch sooner, some could hatch later. The number of clicks \ views is also a factor in deciding when they will hatch. But be careful - if it gets too many clicks \ views too fast, then it will get sick, and maybe die from what's known as Soft Shell. If it doesn't get enough clicks \ views, then it will run out of time, and also die. You have to get the balance right. I always find it so exciting watching the egg crack (the first crack is the best), get a hole in it, seeing the hatchling, and finally the adult dragon. When the egg has hatched, you finally get to name your little friend, but you might prefer to wait until you know its gender, before naming it. When you have adult dragons, you are able to breed them, and start the cycle all over again. But breeding is not always successful - sometimes the dragons are unlucky, or sometimes they have no interest in each other. But if you are lucky, you will get a new egg to love and care for.

Didn't see what all the fuss was about with this game until I started doing it. It quickly became surprisingly addictive. Been doing it for over a year now. My favourite part is naming the dragons and anticipating what new types of eggs will be released.
Hey Ann
Thanks for commenting.
Yes, it really is an addictive game. You get to really care about the dragons.
Glad you are enjoying it. (:
so what r dragon codes
Hey Breana
Dragon codes are a way to identify your dragons. Each dragon has a 4-digit code made from capital letters, small letters, and numbers. The code is needed when you name your dragon, or want to display it somewhere.
